Beginning Gyotaku--Japanese for Fish Rubbing

This artform--gyotaku--evolved from the fish rubbings Japanese fishermen made to document their catches.

In this beginning two-hour workshop, you will learn

1. how to prepare the fish
2. how to apply acrylic paint to it
3. how to place and hold fabric to make a fish print using the direct method.

Messy? Somewhat.
Smelly? Dead fish--what do you think?
