PORTRAIT SKETCHES FROM SELFIES - My Personal Art Challenge

I teach drawing. It is widely believed that people are the hardest subject to draw. So I have challenged myself to draw 52 portrait sketches from selfies. I plan to have a show and maybe even publish a book. 

These portrait sketches were all drawn from selfies sent to me with the agreement that I can use them as examples on my website and/or blog, I can show them in art shows, and I can publish them in books if I so choose:

DRAWING ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BRAIN Workshop

A five-session drawing class using the DRAWING ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BRAIN workbook is forming. It will probably be on Tuesdays late afternoon or evening. 

Whether you have NEVER drawn or have for years, this course helps you see as an artist. Based on research by Dr. Betty Edwards, who says anyone who can hold a pencil and sign his/her name, can draw. Let me make you a believer.

5 classes @ $25 = $125 plus $20 workbook. 

Basic art supplies (pencils,erasers,sharpeners, tortillions, etc.) will be provided.

Inexpensive way to begin: Buy BASICS paint: primary red, yellow, blue, titanium white; brushes; canvas or canvas board.

Painting from Drawing

Acrylic on canvas from one of my drawings. I painted it in burnt umber and white; it looked like an old photograph. Then, I added some ultramarine blue and ochre glazes. Not quite finished, but getting there....
